Santa Barbara Reef and Run
1K Swim + 5K Run Biathlon
The 1-Mile Swim takes place in the open water off East Beach. This is the same swim course used for the Santa Barbara Triathlon Long Course and is well-marked with buoys and staffed with lifeguards. Start time: 6:25 p.m.
The 1K Swim takes place in the open water off East Beach. The course starts at the same point as the 1-Mile Swim with a well-marked early turn to the finish. It is also fully staffed with lifeguards. The 1K Swim may be done individually without the 5K Biathlon. Start time: 6:25 p.m.
The Reef and Run Biathlon includes the same 1K Swim Course listed above and starts at the same time. Upon exiting the water, racers will transition at the ramp to the Cabrillo Bath House and embark on the 5K run through the parking lot and making two loops around the Chase Palm Park soccer fields. Start time: 6:25 p.m.
The 5K Run starts just past the West end of the East Beach parking lot about 100 yards up the bike path. Runners will proceed along the bike path to the West end of the Chase Palm Park soccer fields. They will turn right through the Chase Palm Park parking lot and return toward East Beach along the Cabrillo Blvd. sidewalk. Runners will make TWO loops, finishing just before the West end of the East Beach parking lot. Start time: 6:35 p.m.
The little ones get to enjoy a Kids' Fun Run in the sand outside the post-race party with ice cream for all at the finish. Start time approximately 7:30 p.m.
Following the first finishers from the swim, the Red Nectar Post-Race Party gets rolling in the sand right in front of the Cabrillo Bath House. Enjoy cold beer and beverages with your feet in the sand listening to the hot sounds of a weekly local band. There is also a weekly raffle with great prizes from our sponsors. Snacks provided, and participants are encouraged to bring a picnic or BBQ dinner to the beach and enjoy the evening.
Red Nectar Ale Post-Race Party
All entrants are welcome to enjoy WARM showers in the Cabrillo Bath House locker rooms at no additional charge. Clean up and enjoy the party!!
